The Banque de France indicated at the beginning of the week that the Institute for the Overseas Departments (IEDOM) would become on January 1, 2017 one of its wholly-owned subsidiaries. The Institute's missions will remain “unchanged” and “almost identical to those of the Banque de France”. An announcement that aims to be beneficial for overseas territories: “The“ Ambition 100 Overseas ”business plan, which draws all the benefits from this merger, aims to make IEDOM an even more efficient company.” This institute operates in the communities of the Northern Islands and Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, and in the five overseas departments.
