Hotels and merchants must request prior authorization to reopen their doors!

At the approach of the high tourist season, the State and Community services note that a large number of establishments, in particular hotels and commercial premises, have opened or reopened without authorization.

All entrepreneurs and traders are reminded that, in accordance with the building and housing code, the opening of any establishment open to the public is subject to a request for prior authorization addressed to the president of the community (or at least a declaration for low capacity establishments).

Any reopening of an establishment after a closure of at least 10 consecutive months is also subject to this obligation.

The managers of these establishments must imperatively take the attachment of the direction of the regional planning and the town planning, by specifying in particular the surface and the capacity of the establishment, the type of activity and the nature of the work carried out, to know the documents necessary for the constitution of their file.

The Collectivity will examine the requests and, if necessary, convene the safety committee for a control visit of the establishment and its facilities.

It is recalled that any contravener to these regulatory provisions is liable to a 5th category fine applied as many times as there are days without inspection visit, without authorization or opening statement, i.e. € 1500 fine per opening day.

In summary, interested parties have every interest in complying with the law, under penalty of paying a high price! Clearly… _AF
