This year, the Les Fruits de Mer association will once again honor the natural heritage of our island. Members will organize the 3rd edition of the Endemic Animals Festival at Sint Maarten Zoo. On Sunday, young and old will (re) discover these animals which are “unique on the island and in the region”, indicates Jenn Yerkes, the president of the association. From 9 am to noon, the public will benefit from guided walks, an observation station, as well as artistic activities for children. On this occasion, new panels of native animals will be unveiled. To better identify the different species, Les Fruits de Mer has published an electronic book entitled “Eye on Endemics: Caribbean Originals”, downloadable: www.lesfruitsdemer.com.
