President Gibbs receives new regional director of ARS

The President of the Community, Daniel Gibbs and his vice-president in charge of the Solidarity and Families Pole, Annick Pétrus, received, on Thursday, April 5, Valérie Denux, the new director of the Regional Health Agency of Guadeloupe, Saint -Barthélemy and Saint-Martin (ARS).

Accompanied by Pascal Godefroy, local representative of ARS, the new regional director, who took office on March 15, 2018, came to introduce herself, but also to exchange with President Gibbs on urgent files.

Among the points discussed, the construction of the medico-social pole, priority of the mandate, is on track. The structure will be located in Saint-Martin, the decentralization of certain services in Saint-Barthélemy is envisaged. Meetings will take place soon to define funding and move forward once and for all on this project.

Among the other points raised, Vice-President Annick Pétrus mentioned the campaign to fight obesity among schoolchildren as well as the construction of fitness trails.

Another issue that is dear to the majority, the creation of a Medico-Educational Institute (IME) to support young people in difficulty.

The President has found a regional director who listens to the needs of the Collectivity and now wishes to be able to move quickly on the creation of the Medico-Social Center.
