The Ti Expo welcomes the “instant digital paintings” by Claudio Arnell

Since May 2018, Christian Mansana, manager of Photo Caraïbes, has lent one of the walls of his shop to photographers on the island.

The current Ti Expo, the name given to these small temporary exhibitions of forty-five days, has been devoted to the works of Claudio Arnell since January 15.

"My photographs reflect the real and the unreal, the full and the empty, the net and the blurry as well as the infinite in the detail and vice versa: I try to visually savor the essence of the term" Melting-Pot "indicates Claudio Arnell, born in Saint-Martin and who produced in 2010 the official emblem of the Collectivity of Saint-Martin.

"I constantly question the notion of the line in the composition," he continues.

The photographer ensures that all image processing is done upstream and takes place “before the 'CLICK'”. He now prefers to qualify his photos as “instantaneous digital paintings”: “once the photograph has been taken, the image captured, I don't touch it until it is exposed”.
