State services mobilized during the 36th edition of the Heineken Regatta due to the passage of boats in French territorial waters. On this occasion, a prefectural decree regulating the conditions had also been issued. In order to guarantee the safety of the participants, material and human resources were deployed: 6 French intervention ships thus enforced the maritime security provisions. The Saint-Martin Nature Reserve and the AGOA sanctuary also carried out an awareness-raising operation concerning the potential risks of collision with large cetaceans.
