The president of the Saint-Martin Football League, Aristide Conner and the general secretary of the League, Marc Ménard met the Prefect, Serge Gouteyron on the implementation or not of the Sanitary Pass for the opening of the 2021 season. 2022. At the end of the meeting, the health protocol presented by the League was accepted by the representative of the State, thus avoiding the establishment of the Health Pass for the players and managers of each club.

Discussions at the September 24 meeting focused mainly on the implementation of the Health Pass in the sports sector. The Saint Martin Football League, being the first sports association of the island by its number of licensees (more than a thousand last season) wanted to take the lead and ensure that its licensees will be able to practice football despite the context of the health crisis.

The Prefect made it clear to the authorities of Saint-Martin football that if the health protocol was followed to the letter by the public and the players, there was no reason to set up the Health Pass for the moment. A health pass which obliges players in particular to either be vaccinated or be tested before each training or competition session.

This is good news for all lovers of the round ball in Saint-Martin who will however have to scrupulously respect the health protocol put in place by the League under penalty of seeing the Prefect change their mind! _AF
