JUSTICE: Accused of robbing a mini-market, a 19-year-old was released

On June 12 at around 10 a.m., an individual wearing a balaclava and gloves entered a convenience store in the Quartier d'Orléans. He brandishes a gun, holds out a sort of wallet and asks the cashier to put the money in it, that is to say a hundred dollars and euros. Then comes out.

The gendarmes arrive a few minutes later. Two witnesses tell them that they saw a car leaving for the Dutch side. They also communicate the color, model and license plate to them. They specify that MP is used to driving it. An alert is issued to the Sint Maarten police.

In the early afternoon, the Sint Maarten police checked the car driven by MP. The 19-year-old is arrested and taken into police custody. He was remanded in custody on October 5 and summoned to the Saint-Martin local court for immediate appearance on Wednesday. He is accused of theft with the threat of a pistol, in a meeting and having concealed his face.

If during his hearings, "he said anything and everything" notes the court, at the bar, MP is constant in his explanations: he did not hold up the supermarket. He said that this day he received a visit from F, an acquaintance, and that he lent her his car. This implies that F used it to go to the supermarket and commit the theft.

At the bar, the store manager recounted the scene of the robbery and described his attacker: "he was muscular ... He (he said looking at MP), he is thin, the other he was fat". The manager says MP was not the one who robbed him. After deliberation, the court acquitted MP.
