As part of the Fête de la Nature, from May 22 to 26, 2019, in partnership with the associations "Ecole de la Mer", "Ecolamba", "Aquaponie Antilles", "APIGUA", "Yon a Lot", "Evasion Tropicale (AET) ”,“ Coral Restoration of Saint-Barthélemy ”and the Saint-Martin nature reserve, EDF invites you to discover the treasures of our natural heritage.

The Fête de la Nature was born in 2007 at the behest of the magazine Terre sauvage (Bayard group) and IUCN (International Union for the Conservation of Nature) which brings together the French networks for nature conservation.

Its objective: to discover the hidden riches of biodiversity, to share the desire to protect and celebrate it. Its date is linked to the World Biodiversity Day, May 22. This is a general public event that covers the entire national territory, including the overseas regions. Concretely, nature players, professionals, volunteers, offer field trips, fun and friendly activities around nature.

EDF and the Fête de la Nature, a 12-year-old story…

EDF has been a historic partner of the Fête de la Nature since 2008. Each year, EDF structures in the regions organize numerous field events with local partners (National Botanical Conservatory, School of the Sea, etc.) in order to share to the public its implication for the protection of nature and the environment.

The theme of this edition is “nature in motion”. The animations will illustrate: the cycle of the seasons, the movements of species, the modification of ecosystems, the transformation of places, the evolution of landscapes ... To show that things move all the time in nature.

The proposed activities:

For EDF in Guadeloupe, participating in the Fête de la Nature responds to a regional ambition within the framework of the national initiative "Act4nature", which is to launch a positive approach to biodiversity: not to limit oneself to knowledge or the reduction of activities to have a positive effect on biodiversity.
