False passports to Juliana: reaction from the prefecture

0

Concerning the three Syrian nationals arrested at Juliana airport last Saturday, the prefecture wanted to express itself via its Facebook page.

The prefecture announced yesterday that it confirmed the information in the press release issued by the authorities of Sint Maarten, which we told you about in our Tuesday edition. "If it is true that three Syrian nationals, bearing false Greek passports, were indeed arrested at Juliana airport, there is nothing to suggest that their arrival in Sint Maarten is linked to any terrorist project," said the prefecture. The investigations are being carried out jointly by the authorities on both sides of the island. The investigations carried out "show that it is above all a question of illegal immigration", added the prefecture. As a reminder, in all the overseas territories, the Vigipirate plan has been reinforced.
