A new road drama has grieved Saint-Martin, following an accident that took place last Friday, shortly before the entrance to Orient Bay, towards the Rancho del Sol restaurant.
According to the first elements provided by the gendarmerie, the accident took place around 20 p.m. on the RN7, just before the entrance to Orient Bay. A scooter, coming from Quartier d'Orléans, visibly struck the rearview mirror of a small flatbed truck that was traveling in the opposite direction, which would have thrown it off balance. The 32-year-old driver of the scooter died of his injuries. "He was not wearing a helmet," said the gendarmerie.
The investigation was entrusted to the Esperance brigade. This is the third fatal accident involving a two-wheeler to be deplored in less than three weeks in Saint-Martin! _AF
