News item: Two mask thefts from nurses' cars

0

While they were visiting patients at their home, two nurses were unpleasantly surprised to find on their return in their vehicle that it had been vandalized; the masks they had were stolen.

"Two complaints were lodged this morning," confirms Commander Stephan Basso. The events took place in Spring and Saint-James. An investigation has been opened. "This is the first time since the start of the crisis that this type of theft has been committed," said the squadron chief.

"Beyond the news in itself, this flight is really derogatory because we do not have a large stock of masks," laments a nursing staff. "We have received masks but we are supplied according to our needs", he specifies. In other words, the stock is not sufficient to compensate for these losses while waiting for the next supply. "The ARS has confirmed to us that contingents are underway in the coming days to Guadeloupe and the Northern Islands," added the nursing staff.

Finally, as a reminder, surgical masks do not protect against the virus. If you wear one, you can still be infected with coronavirus. The surgical mask only protects the person in front of you from your postilions. This is why the ARS only recommends that contaminated people wear a mask.
