Sint Maarten police received information on Tuesday that a crocodile will be detained on property on LB Scot road. An investigation is then opened and the police go on site to verify the information.
On the spot, they discover a crocodile about one and a half meters long in a concrete water basin. The owner of this wild and dangerous animal confides to keep it for thirty years without authorization from the authorities.
The Nature Foundation was contacted to recover the crocodile; he was placed in a safe place pending his transfer to a zoo outside the island.
