Louis Mussington leader of the Rassemblement Saint-Martinois list won the territorial elections on Sunday evening by collecting 49% of the votes cast.

After Daniel Gibbs announced the results, Louis Mussington arrived on stage surrounded by his team. He spoke to the dozens of Saint-Martinoises and Saint-Martinois in front of the Hôtel de la Collectivité in English, French and Creole. “It is the victory of our beautiful island of Saint-Martin. You will not be disappointed because we will get to work on Monday,” he said. "There will be work to do but I will trust the 23 members of the territorial council," he added. Louis Mussington will become president of the COM next Sunday during an official ceremony.
