A video conference brought together yesterday morning, under the chairmanship of the Minister for Overseas Territories, the Ministry for Overseas Territories, the Directorate General for Overseas Territories, the Office of the Prime Minister and all the overseas prefects.
The three territories whose schools had remained open according to the principle of differentiation (Saint-Pierre and Miquelon, Mayotte, Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin) were asked to close the schools.
The crèches, schools, colleges and high schools of Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin are closed from Monday March 16, 2020, until further notice.
Schools are mobilized to ensure administrative and educational continuity. Particular attention will be paid to welcoming the children of people essential to managing the health crisis.
The Prefecture of Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin will communicate on the other measures to be implemented in the coming days, in particular concerning the modalities of application in the Overseas Territories of the decree of March 14, 2020. _AF
