Education: The protest movement in the school complex continues!

Still awaiting the delivery of the modular classes, the concern and anger of the PEP Collective and the SNES-FSU and SPEG unions are mounting!

Since Tuesday morning, the students have not had classes. Teachers, parents and school staff continue their movement to block the school complex, the movement is supported by the unions SNES-FSU and SPEG. All regret that each party involved in the delivery of modular classes "continues to pass the buck without a quick and lasting solution being found".

Because of the absence of prime contractor, it would seem that the contractor mandated by the Collectivity was exceeded by the scope of the site; the product not being completely identical to that which had been envisaged, the materials did not all arrive, some were even changed while the deadlines are not respected, "these delays in the works prevent the public service from education to proceed normally ”underlines Laurent Bayly, territorial secretary of SNES-FU.

Even if the site should be completed within a fortnight, it is only three classes out of the six planned that could be delivered, however, no official date could not be announced because we still have to wait for the passage of the commission of security.

A strike notice was filed for this Friday, the day of the arrival of the rector in Saint-Martin, "the inauguration of the rooms was scheduled for the visit of the rector, we noted a week before that it would be nothing , as since September, as on each announced date, there is always a reason to explain the delays. Too much is too much, ”says a union member.

The Collective wishes to challenge the population of Saint-Martin as well as all the actors responsible for the works and the public service of National Education in order not to endorse an inauguration which would have been fictitious and would amount to yet another announcement effect " powder in the eyes ”to which the Collective has been used since Irma.

The teachers also hope that parents can understand the ins and outs of children's schooling in Saint-Martin: “when we go to the street it is not to complain unnecessarily, we fight for the situation of the pupils who is not normal, the results are falling, 65% of the students do not have the average, we want to ask for additional resources to be able to meet the needs of children in difficulty, we need more and not less and we are always given less! »Adds a teacher. “Compulsory education is not provided in its entirety because of the lack of rooms, exploration lessons have not taken place since the start of the school year! "

The Collective plans to meet Jean-Michel Alfandari, Inspector General of National Education representing the Minister and refer Overseas for National Education during his visit to Saint Martin next February. Unions and teachers are drawing up the plan to alert the Minister of National Education to inform him of the aberration of the educational conditions of the pupils of Saint Martin: "We note today that the pupils of Saint Martin do not benefit from the same means and services for their education as in other academies, we have been emphasizing this for months, today we no longer want to hear that it is normal and acceptable because it is not! "

Mobilizations planned for Friday in several schools

While the blocking of access to the school complex has continued since Tuesday, the teacher union FSU has filed a strike notice for this Friday, January 11, the day of the rector's visit to Saint Martin. In addition to Robert Weinum, mobilizations are planned in several establishments of the first and second degrees, notably at Siméone Trott, at the LPO and at Mont des Accords.
