Education: Pastries with vegetables, a real treat!

0

As part of the “Semaine du Goût” and at the initiative of Céline Compper Ogoli-Socin, deputy director of vocational training and Thierry Delaunay, pastry teacher at the LPO, the CM 2 C class of the Hervé Williams school was able to learn about pastry decoration techniques with students from the vocational school (Complémentaire Dessert de Restaurant).

"The objective of the project is to make young people aware of the pleasure of the palate by involving them in the creation of pastry recipes with an original taste", stresses Thierry Delaunay, before adding, "we know that children prefer sweet preparations and that 'they have a little more difficulty enjoying vegetables.

This experience will allow them, through the creation of a dessert with attractive colors, to taste vegetables that they would not eat in their raw state ”.

The students of the Hervé Williams school therefore applied themselves to making beautiful pastry decorations without knowing that the ingredients were based on ... vegetables!

At the beginning of the afternoon, a dessert tasting was organized at the Hervé Williams school, the students having finally discovered the trick: "Eating sweet vegetables is possible and it's a treat!" "

This great initiative has also enabled two generations to cohabit in  empowering future pastry chefs and perhaps transmitting the fiber of the trade to the young schoolchildren of Hervé Williams. Who knows ? _AF
