Social and solidarity economy: a bright future in Saint Martin

0

Some local businesses - associations, foundations, cooperatives - are turning their activities towards the social and solidarity economy (SSE). These structures are a leading economic player: the SSE also represents 51.000 jobs and more than 4000 employers in overseas territories, according to the overseas ministry which launched last week a call for experimental projects dedicated to this economy.
Our territory is of course concerned by this initiative, within the framework of the agreement signed between the State and the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations entitled "Acting for employment and the creation of activities 2014-2017". The themes are numerous and range from cooperative housing, to health, through alternative tourism and digital technology. The specifications will soon be posted on the prefecture website. The deadline for submitting applications is set for July 15: the winners of this call for projects will be announced by September 30, 2016.
