Tourism training: an excellent record

The “Teaching tourism in Saint-Martin” training course run by the National Education Department - which ended on April 22 - was crowned with success. The 25 trainees greatly appreciated the various interventions, according to the Collectivity: “The teachers greeted the fascinating and passionate speakers.” The last module was devoted to the environment. It was Romain Renoux, deputy director of the Nature Reserve, who captured the attention of the trainees on the theme: "The environment, a central and essential element of tourism, to be protected". The teachers were able to benefit from an outing at sea headed by Captain Stéphane Mazurier and his crew. They thus discovered the wonders of the reserve at Tintamarre and Pinel islet. At the end of this assessment, Michel Sanz, the representative of the rector, proposed that tourism be taught in all 1st and 2nd grade schools in Saint-Martin at the start of the next school year.
