Last July, the president and members of the Association of Hoteliers of Saint-Martin (AHSM) announced their desire to expand the structure to all tourism stakeholders in the French part so that everyone can think together about how to improve the tourism product. This is how the Tourism Club was born.
However, from an administrative and legal point of view, the transformation could only be done last month during the general assembly of the AHSM. "We have indeed amended the statutes accordingly", specifies Patrice Seguin, (re) elected president of the association which is now called Club du tourisme. The next step will be the expansion of the office so that non-hotel professionals can integrate it. An extraordinary general assembly will be convened with this subject on the agenda soon, once the new statutes are formalized by the prefecture.
The Tourism Club operates in thematic committees: regional tourism development, promotion, training, safety, cleanliness, finance / taxation. Boating players have already expressed their desire to join the Club.
