Economy: 10600 companies benefiting from partial activity in Guadeloupe and the Northern Islands

As of June 15, more than 10600 establishments have been authorized to implement partial activity in Guadeloupe, Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin. These authorizations concern 63800 employees for  28,4 million hours potentially unemployed.

Partial activity is one of the measures implemented by the Government to help companies and their employees cope with the economic difficulties created by COVID19.

It allows the forced employer to place his employees in partial activity to pay them compensation of 70% of gross salary (or 84% of the net) and to be reimbursed in full by the State, within the limit of 4,5 times the minimum wage.

This measure is extended until September for companies in the hotel, catering, cafes, tourism, events, sport, culture and  businesses in related sectors, which have suffered a very sharp drop in activity (these businesses must have lost 80% of turnover during the containment period, from March 15 to May 15).

For the other sectors of activity, since June 1, the non-working hours for partial activity are now covered at 85% by the State.

Of these 10600 establishments, more than 8300 have an authorization which runs beyond May 31, 2020.

73 million euros were paid for 8900 establishments and 7,4 million hours.
