Destination SXM: Regional tourism, a market to promote!

0

As part of the development and promotion of regional tourism, the Tourist Office continues its strategy of attractiveness of its territory.

Throughout the month of February, Guadeloupe and Martinique were particularly targeted through various participations in travel, leisure and cruise fairs.

The French Tourist Office and the Dutch Tourist Office jointly participated in several trade fairs for regional tourism, which took place in Guadeloupe and Martinique. 18 visitors to Martinique and 000 to Guadeloupe, walked the aisles and stands, showing that the Caribbean clientele is looking for information, proximity and inspiring experiences. Saint-Martin therefore has everything to offer to this regional clientele looking for a change of scenery and authenticity, next door.

The island of Saint-Martin must build on the strengths found in its territory to attract new customers and keep regulars returning. The regional tourism market segment supports the overall competitiveness of the island, so it must be boosted and developed.

Participation in these fairs makes it possible to reflect the quality of the tourist offer and the diversity of the Saint-Martin hotel park. The island has regained its colors and its dynamism, it now has a satisfactory global offer for the most demanding customers, both in terms of accommodation, catering, leisure, tourist sites and even offers several innovations and new products. .

The representatives of the Tourist Office took advantage of the trips to meet travel agencies, works councils, decision makers and travel advisers as well as local media. Interviews were done for RFI, France Antilles, ETV and Guadeloupe Première. Saint-Martin needs these information relays which present the state of the destination and help to promote the island, at a time when competition in the field is more fierce than ever.
