DENGUE / Three epidemic foci identified: Cul-de-Sac, Nettle Bay and Orient Bay

"In Saint-Martin the weekly number of clinically suggestive cases of dengue seen in city medicine is increasing slightly after nearly 77 cases estimated last week against 59 cases estimated on average per week for two months", indicates Public Health France in its health bulletin published today.

Since the epidemic began in mid-January, the estimated number of suggestive cases has been 1; the number of biologically confirmed cases of 415.

Health authorities have identified three epidemic foci: Cul de Sac, Orient Bay and Nettle Bay.

The Denv-1 serotype is the majority (78,6% of the cases) but the Denv 2 (11,9%) and 3 (9,5%) serotypes are also found.
