27As part of the projects co-financed by the FEI, an exceptional investment fund, the Collectivity of Saint-Martin proposed two projects for the year 2020: the renovation of the Fort Louis marina and the creation of a cyclonic shelter in as part of the construction of the future college 900 at La Savane.
The first project consists of renovating the buildings of the marina, and carrying out landscaping, securing maritime infrastructure and restoring networks and public lighting. The cost of the operation amounts to 5.5M € for the Community, which requests the EIF up to 3.8M €, with a remaining charge of 1.7M €.
The list of projects eligible for the EIF may be supplemented by the Community. The Executive Council voted in favor of this deliberation.
The creation of a cyclone shelter in the future college with 900 places is a strong will of the executive; this college, intended to replace the Soualiga college, will be located in the Savannah sector in Grand Case. Cyclone Irma having highlighted the need for cyclone shelters, it was decided to make this college a shelter.
