At Greta, the press was invited yesterday to the signing of the FSE (European Social Fund) agreement relating to the academic system of relay classes, in the presence of the principals of the three colleges. This project is part of the 2014-2020 programming - FESI (European Structural Investment Funds).

“Fighting school failure and strengthening access to lifelong qualification” is priority axis 7 of the Guadeloupe / Saint-Martin Operational Program for 2014-2020. This mechanism, signed for the three colleges, amounts to a total of 402.098 euros, including 141.898 euros financed by the ESF, whose mission is to support the various integration, training and employment actions. The three relay classes in the territory are “tools to fight against dropping out of school for secondary school students who are at risk of dropping out. These students will therefore have support from a multi-professional team. The objective is to reintegrate them into the school system, ”explains Antoine Siban, academic coordinator of relay classes in charge of monitoring the system. 12 in number, these young people will be offered a personalized project within this system (one school year maximum) multi-partnership with the National Education, supported by the judicial protection of youth (PJJ). The efficiency of the relay class is very real. "The student regains self-confidence, rediscovers the meaning of learning, and sets out again on a project", underlines the principal of the college Soualiga Elian Erlhac. The novelty of this 2014-2020 program lies in the assessment of the various mechanisms, with the establishment of mandatory indicators to carry out individual monitoring of participants.
