It was in front of an audience made up of her class, the teaching staff, representatives of the Soroptimist Club and her father, that Katreinka Yeponde received the Elsie Claire Award for Best Scientist of the Year at the Collège du Mont des Accords.
Madame Suzelle Karam, principal of the Collège du Mont des Accords at Concordia, proudly retraced the journey of this young and brilliant student who was totally unaware that she had been chosen to receive the 4th Elsie Claire Prize from the Soroptimist Club who works in the fields health, environment, leadership and female entrepreneurship, and which works for equality between men and women, and the success of the latter. Katreinka, now in third year Maupassant, is a student described as exemplary and thoughtful, who helps others and who shines in her scientific studies. His father could not contain his emotion during the congratulatory speech. Arriving in 6th grade at College and coming from a family that has lost everything, Katreinka, who will be 15 next November, had to deal with her mother's illness and her sudden death the following year. However, she never dropped out and was even more diligent in her school career. The choice of Katreinka for the Elsie Claire Award for Best Scientist of the Year was therefore obvious to everyone. Her classmates, as well as Madame Moreskal, Monsieur Moreskal, Madame Renaut, Madame Venthou-Dumaine, Madame Maaroufi representing the Rectorate, Madame Lollia and Monsieur Urgin, let their joy and support be expressed during the official announcement.
After the presentation of the prize and a check for 500 €, Katreinka and the rest of the assembly attended a quality theatrical performance presented by the students of the theater workshop of Madame Jacqueline Adige.
