In Saint-Martin, consultations for flu symptoms and bronchiolitis are increasing, reports the Institute for Public Health Surveillance (InVS) in its latest epidemiological bulletin.

Regarding flu symptoms, a "sudden" increase in the number of consultations, during the 3rd week of October, was observed among general practitioners.

157 cases were estimated. "This increase is not observed in the emergency department of Flemming Hospital," says the institute. For bronchiolitis, the epidemiological situation is that of "the beginning of an epidemic" which still remains to be confirmed. The weekly number of consultations increased in the 2nd week of October. This increase was accentuated the following week with nearly 40 consultations for bronchiolitis, "a value almost 8 times higher than the maximum expected values", indicates InVs.
