CULTURE: Jérôme Rouger did not walk on eggshells at the Chapelle theater

0

His show "Why hens prefer to be raised in drums" marked the start of the new theatrical season and the least we can say is that the actor hit hard.

The three performances last weekend attracted culture lovers to the Théâtre de la Chapelle to discover this original conference that the author did not fail to adapt to the history, geography and customs of the territory. For 1h30 of show, Jérôme Rouger put on his costume as director of the National School of Itinerant Agriculture (ENAA) and his white boots to try to unravel the mystery of the chicken and the egg. Self-proclaimed former teacher of Audrey Duputié, director of the Théâtre de la Chapelle who took advantage of the introduction to thank the Collectivity for the recent partnership signed between them, Jérôme Rouger multiplied his nods to Saint-Martin after performing a real research work on the elected officials, the districts and the particular functioning of a territory like ours.

Not hesitating to push puns by encouraging the public to interact with him, the actor also gave pride of place to scientific notions where we come out unbeatable on the living conditions of a hen raised in a battery, and it really gives goosebumps. Justifying his presence on stage because of the inauguration of the Saint-Martin branch of the ENAA, Jérôme Rouger launched into his conference like a Professor Tournesol, a bit eccentric and touchy but profoundly brilliant. Using theatrical subterfuges like asking the public to imagine photos projected on a screen to illustrate his lecture comedy, the artist alone on stage makes people laugh without ever making fun. The flow is fast, and speeds up a notch when Jérôme Rouger decides to rap the question that everyone has been asking since the start of the show: Why do hens prefer to be raised in batteries... and of which no one has had the answer except perhaps this man from the public who almost had his beard shaved by the professor in the middle of a practical demonstration. If this spectator can pride himself on having somehow lent his body to science, Jérôme Rouger can boast of having managed to make the entire hall of the Théâtre de la Chapelle cackle. _VX
