Covid-19: Increased cooperation between the authorities of Saint-Martin and Sint-Maarten in the health field

0

The Regional Health Agency of Guadeloupe, in close collaboration with the authorities of Saint-Martin, Saint-Barthélemy and the "Collective Prevention Service" (CPS), Public Health Service of Sint Maarten, have worked in recent weeks writing of a joint strategy.

This health cooperation strategy is based on 4 axes:

- Epidemiological monitoring of new cases of Covid-19 on the basis of similar criteria and regular exchanges in the form of bi-weekly meetings between the territorial management of the ARS and the CPS.

- Identical screening strategies for suspected Covid-19 patients. Anyone who is suspicious due to suggestive symptoms will be systematically screened for by PCR test in the same way on both sides.

- The investigations around the cases will be harmonized with permanent exchanges in order to ensure the follow-up of contact cases on both sides of the island and thus avoid the appearance of new chains of transmission of the virus.

-  The reception of travelers on the island is the subject of discussions. The conditions of arrival in Saint-Martin, subject to the national recommendations in force will be the subject of permanent exchanges and consistency with Sint Maarten.

This work will allow the signing in the coming days of a technical arrangement between the ARS and the government of Sint Maarten, which will continue to maintain cooperation in the health field in order to continue the joint fight against the epidemic of coronavirus.
