The association Carnivalesque carnivals de Saint-Martin (FCDSM) and the Caisse territoriale des oeuvres d'études (CTOS) join forces in 2016 carnival activities. A partnership agreement was signed yesterday morning at the office of the peri-extracurricular service , in Marigot, for the benefit of the "Miss pitchounette" and "Miss mini Reine" elections.
A great success, nothing less, is planned for the 2016 edition of the carnival. For this, the FCDSM association approached CTOS to better supervise the registration of candidates for the "Miss pitchounette" (6 to 7 years old) and "Miss mini queen" (8 to 10 year old) contests. “The various peri and out-of-school centers will choose a candidate to present her for the elections. Previously, we asked the population, via the media, to register their children in these elections. From now on, it is much simpler to carry out these procedures with the reception staff, "explains Claudine Mingau, vice-president of the FCDSM association, who will only take care of the logistics of these events. Within the framework of this partnership, the association will donate 15% of the total amount of the entries to the elections (by deducting the cost of the demonstrations) to the peri-extracurricular service in the form of material given to the receptions. Claudine Mingau reminds that these elections are not beauty contests: “It is the artistic creations of the ten candidates who will be judged. Ten schools will take part in these elections, which will take place on January 24 in the carnival village of Galisbay. The winner of each category will receive a stay at the Disney amusement park in Florida. "The candidates were selected by the peri-extracurricular reception centers of each school, with the agreement of the parents, based on several criteria, including ease in public", specifies Sandra Angely, head of the peri-extracurricular reception services department. There is already great enthusiasm for these two elections. Costume creations are going well in the workshops set up in the reception areas. ”
