A meal that challenges quality and quantity. A meal that arouses the anger of some mothers. “Four euros for this meal is still a bit expensive!” They say. "Especially since this is the first time. One day, the children had green salad, dumplings and a piece of cheese, ”they add.
The director of the territorial school works fund (CTOS), Kenroy Bryan, says he is "aware of the problem" and justifies it. His explanations are of two types depending on the context.
Regarding the meal served last Friday, the choice of cassoulet was dictated by financial reasons. “Due to the teachers' strike movement, some schools did not accept children, which made us lose food. For example, one day we planned chicken that we thaw the day before. We couldn't serve it and threw it away. So on Friday, I made the decision to serve canned cassoulet, which we prepared the same morning, ”he explains. "I fully accept this choice," he says.
Regarding the quantity served in general, it poses a problem in dining rooms. Indeed, some agents would voluntarily limit the food to recover it, the service ended. The temptation is even greater since the management - on the recommendation of the territorial chamber of accounts (CTC) and the prefecture - has removed free meals for agents, the latter having to pay 5,50 euros for the meal.
At the end of November, letters were sent to the agents to warn them of the rule change and to remind them that the meals served to the children could not be reused for personal purposes. About ten days ago, one of the agents caught red-handed with a bucket of food, received a warning
