Nettle bay: combing the beach

0

Dozens of volunteers took part in the “International Coastal Cleanup” event last Sunday at Nettle Bay, organized by SXM Trails and the Pride Foundation. Like every year, an impressive amount of waste was collected.

The organizers announced that 153 bags of rubbish had been filled Sunday morning from the Dreams restaurant to La Belle Créole, weighing a total of 2,3 tonnes. Huge waste, not counted in the final weight, was removed in the area including a bathtub and a refrigerator. The organizers thank all participants and partners for their support. The results of this morning clean-up will be given to the Ocean Conservancy Institute in Washington, which will then compile data from the various actions around the world.
