Aline Hanson School Roof Covering

At the request of the Community, Civil Security intervened during the week at Aline Hanson elementary school in Sandy Ground.

The soldiers placed a tarp to prevent water infiltration. “We had water flowing and stagnating in the false ceilings; so we had a lot of mosquitoes and the teachers complained, ”explains the director, Germain Alamkan.

“The difficulty of this operation is the presence of solar panels on the roof and it is not our job to remove them. So we put the tarp over it, ”explained the soldiers to the prefect Anne Laubiès who came to appreciate their work in the afternoon of Thursday.

Civil security had already intervened in part of this school after the passage of Irma. But faced with complaints from teachers, other parts of the roof required a new operation.

When the tarpaulin is finished, the community will have to start renovations inside the classrooms; their condition does not allow children to be taken in. (Source: www.soualigapost.com)
