The SXM Animal Collective is organizing its first adoption day dedicated to dogs looking for a new family this Sunday from 12 p.m. to 15 p.m. in Grand-Case.

The event will take place in the car park of the restaurant Claquettes Chaussettes SXM and Rôtisserie Les 3P, both partners, this Sunday, January 15 from noon. Organized by the Collectif Animaux SXM association, which works to rescue, protect and place animals, the adoption day invites anyone wishing to meet the doggies and make the commitment to adopt a dog that will save them forever. street hazards. Adoption is a thoughtful and responsible act. It is done under contract between the adopter and the association, with a period of 7 days. In addition, a certificate of commitment and knowledge is requested from any adopter, a certificate implemented since October 1, 2022 in order to counter, among other things, mass abandonment. This certificate can be obtained from a veterinarian or from members holding a Certificate of Knowledge for Companion Animals of Domestic Species (ACACED). But before any administrative procedure, the objective of an adoption day is to allow potential adopters to meet the animal that will touch their heart. Five dogs will be present at this event, dogs rescued from the street or from the pound, who are waiting to find their forever family. At the end of this day, the adopted dogs will go back to their foster families so that the association Collectif Animaux SXM carries out the usual verification procedure. They will find their new parents as soon as it is completed and validated. A photo session with the doggies and the host families will be held on the beach of Grand-Case on the morning of this Sunday, the photos will be available for sale during the Tuesdays of Grand-case in order to raise funds for the association. which unfortunately received no subsidy from the Collectivity. A raffle will also be organized during the adoption day between noon and 15 p.m. thanks to the two partners Claquettes Chaussettes and the 3Ps to win a sweet snack or a drink to sip.
