The prefecture of Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin reminds road users of the importance of taking precautions to drive safely:
• Drive with an approved vehicle, in perfect condition, with license plates, insurance and valid technical control;
• Ride on two wheels wearing a helmet and adequate protective equipment;
• Respect the rules of the road including the use of the flashing light, respect of speed limits, respect of the prohibition of consumption of narcotic products;
• Adopt responsible driving: do not carry out dangerous overtaking, do not perform acrobatics which would put you and other road users at risk.
Noise from unauthorized exhaust pipes and loud music played by vehicle speakers at any time of the day and night, including weekends, constitute harmful noise pollution. These incivilities harm the quality of life of the inhabitants and should be avoided.
The gendarmerie forces will intensify controls on the public highway.
The State remains mobilized and counts on the contribution of all for a safer road.
