ART / Zincart artistic project: part two

0

It is with as much enthusiasm and impatience that we find the intrepid creator and one thing is certain, his sculpture of Iron Man is growing by leaps and bounds.

In Zincart's open-air workshop, it smells of wood chips and inspiration. More than two weeks have passed since our first article on this monumental artistic project which will soon brighten up the gardens of the Tribute Hotel in Baie Nettlé and the least we can say is that Zincart has not been idle. The final assembly of his gigantic Iron Man is looming more and more on the horizon. When we left it, Zincart was finishing both legs and pelvis of the legendary superhero. He is now -almost- endowed with his powerful arms which now concretize this position typical of the character known to many. For a sculpture almost 4 meters high, with more than 640 pieces to draw, create, assemble, and over a period of 9 months, Zincart not only shows great talent but also unfailing patience. . Even after spending more than a month and a half drawing each piece one by one with all the learned calculations that this implies, any craftsman worthy of the name is aware that by choosing to work with materials such as wood (copper and brass will follow), he risks having to adjust each part according to the cutout, even if it means recalculating the measurements of the others so as not to jeopardize the assembly of the latter. It is one thing to have a creation in mind, it is quite another to realize it itself. This is also part of the vagaries of art, but when it comes to Zincart, nothing stops him, neither his adaptability nor his great demands on himself. His experienced eye as a zinc roofer scans and analyzes the work as a whole as it evolves, always with the aim of perfecting it. We will meet him again in a short time for the rest of his artistic adventures, it is a promise. _VX
