West Indies: stable labor market figures

In the West Indies, the number of job seekers without any activity, in category A registered with Pôle Emploi, was stable for the month of June 2017. In Saint-Martin, this number stood at 4.418: a decrease of 0,2 % over one month, according to data from the regional directorate of companies, competition, consumption, work and employment (DIECCTE) of Guadeloupe. In Saint-Barthélemy, Pôle emploi counts 476 registrants: a drop of 0,6% over one month. In Guadeloupe, the number of job seekers stands at 56.040: a slight increase of 0,3% over one month. Finally in Martinique, there are 42.640 registered in June: an increase of 0,6% over one month, according to the DIECCTE of Martinique. Labor Minister Muriel Pénicaud is expected to comment on unemployment figures next month. _AF
