The Anguilla government held a press conference on the new entry protocols to the island.

Parliamentary Secretary Quincia Gumbs-Marie announced that effective Monday, April 12, the quarantine period has been reduced from 14 to 7 days. “Today marks the start of our gradual reopening. We can now start to revive our economy and return to a sense of normalcy. This would not have been possible without the people who have already participated in the current vaccination program to help us get there, ”said Q. Gumbs-Marie.

Otherwise, starting May 1, all people arriving in Anguilla in groups of more than 10 people must be vaccinated to enter and attend mass gatherings, such as weddings or conferences. Spa, gym and cosmetic treatment services will be permitted if clients and staff are vaccinated.  Port and transport staff must also be vaccinated.

For his part, Permanent Secretary Foster Rogers announced that from July 1, visitors who have been vaccinated three weeks before their arrival will be able to enter Anguilla without any quarantine requirements. They will need a pre-test as before but no test on arrival. Residents returning unvaccinated should be quarantined.

Finally, October 2021 will mark the final phase of the entry protocols. Pre-entry proof of negative test requirements and follow-up testing on the island will cease. Only visitors who are vaccinated at least three weeks before the trip will be allowed to enter the territory.

Since the start of the vaccination campaign, 5 people have received the first dose and over 857 their second dose. _AF
