Pier in Cul-de-Sac: reflections on its revitalization

0

The pier at Cul-de-Sac - which is frequented by many visitors to Pinel islet - does not really exploit its tourist potential. Vice-President Wendel Cocks is determined to make the site more attractive.

During his greetings last Friday, Wendel Cocks, the vice-president of the Collectivity responsible for the economic development pole, thus provided details concerning his project to develop the pier at Cul-de-Sac. "I asked my services to work, in consultation with the sustainable development pole, on an ambitious development axis, but also respectful of the environment, uses and traditions", he explains. This site is certainly popular, but it "can no longer be satisfied with remaining a simple point of passage for tourists to the Pinel islet and it is necessary to consider developing it, revitalizing it, and even securing it", adds he. A small artisanal village could emerge from the ground, but "nothing is set in stone yet", specifies the vice-president. Concerning the tourism strategy, the new territorial plan for planning and tourism development 2016-2021 will be presented during the year. "It is a work which follows a year of reflections and consultations and which will make it possible to effectively support the initiators of innovative projects in this field", according to his remarks.
