The golfer from Antigua (hcp 0) won on Sunday the 26thrd SXM GOLF OPEN on the very difficult Mullet Bay course in the “Champions” category (gross score 77 + 76 = 153), ahead of the unmissable Howard Hobgood (156) from St-Maarten and Scott Delong from Anguilla (157). In Cat “Champions” Net, S.Stanley won ahead of J.Rivera.
• In the “Men” category 1st Brut series, M.Grenouilleau (Tamarins) wins ahead of J. Haillant (Tamarins). Clearly 1st A.Holmes, 2nd C. Derby.
• In cat. “Men” 2nd Brut series, A.Wescott wins in front of T. Gumbs (Anguilla). Clearly 1st L. Assier de Pompignan (Tamarins), 2nd O. Hobgood.
• In cat. “Ladies” Gibbons Marie (USA) wins rough ahead of M.Tortelier. Clearly 1st O.Tinitali, 2nd G. Poulsen
• In cat. “Seniors” 1st series, victory of JP Clerc (Tamarins) before Y.Cazemajou (Tamarins). In net 1st T.Lake, 2nd S.Bashir.
• In cat. “Super Seniors” 1st series, victory of K. Graham before B. Adamski.
• In net 1st T. Burn, 2nd R. Berchoux (Tamarins).
• In cat. “Super Seniors” 2nd series, victory of D. Ward before J. Vallette (Tamarins).
As in every edition, we could note a good harvest of Tamarins.
The awards ceremony took place on Sunday evening at the Tortuga restaurant bar at Sonesta in a very good atmosphere around a buffet. Once again an Open well organized by the SMGA which delighted all the participants.
Part of the profits will be donated to associations such as LAB Sports Academy, the Generation New Status STM Band, No Kidding with our Kids Foundation, Imbali Center, St. Maarten Medical Center, the LC Fleming Hospital, the I Can Foundation, Mental Health Foundation , Key to Freedom, Repair of Broken Walls Community, the Belvedere Community Association, Art Saves Lives Foundation.
The SMGA, like its counterpart the Tamarins, is a non-profit association bringing together golf enthusiasts, who work for the promotion of their sport.
