Lowlands accident: driver sentenced to four months suspended prison sentence

The criminal court of Saint-Martin pronounced this Thursday, June 14, its deliberations concerning the driver, who, drunk, had injured his seven passengers during a car accident in Terres Basses, on July 13, 2017, and whose hearing s 'took place last April 12.

LA, a young Peruvian 25 years old, living in the Dutch part, was convicted and sentenced to four months suspended prison sentence and to a driving ban on French territory for two years. The court asked for the provisional execution of this sentence, so that the ban could be applied immediately.

The court appointed an expert to the Montpellier court as requested by some of the victims residing in Hérault. Five of the victims had filed a civil action, and the court received their constitution.

Provisions on their damages must be paid to them pending the holding of the civil hearing, postponed to November 27, 2018.
