The Clean St Martin association organized an aquatic cleaning operation last Sunday in the Grand-Case sector. Action which allowed to collect more than 150 kilos of waste.
Despite the capricious weather conditions which deteriorated during the afternoon, giving way to incessant rain, the association's volunteers were present for this morning of aquatic cleaning. Leaving from the Grand Case Beach Club car park around 8:30 am, the 18 collectors headed for the coast to carry out this action focused on the environment and the protection of biodiversity. Working on the beach in the water, volunteers cleaned up the shoreline between the Grand Case Beach Club and the lolo's pontoon. Armed with masks, snorkels and flippers, the participants criss-crossed the shallow waters to pick up around 150 kilos of waste, mostly collected from the water. A figure that testifies, again and more than ever, to the need to organize this type of cleaning action carried out monthly by the Clean St Martin association. The wet morning ended with a gathering around a drink, rewarding the volunteers for their tireless efforts to keep the territory of Saint-Martin clean. Another huge congratulations and an equally big thank you to the Clean St Martin team. _VX
