The SNPNC-FO, the majority union of Air Caraïbes cabin crew, said in a statement that it was extending "again the call to stop work started on August 11, 2023, until August 25, 2023".
Despite the strike movement launched on August 11 and initially extended until August 20, the union indicated that it had not received any satisfactory response from the management of the airline company on the demands concerning remuneration and working conditions. The SNPNC-FO, Syndicat National du Personnel Navigant Commercial – Force Ouvrière, also indicated that "the air hostesses, stewards and ground staff, already tired and exasperated by their conditions, are desperate to see that the management of Air Caraïbes prefers to spend the fruits of their efforts on charters from other companies in order to limit the effects of the strike rather than investing in their employees”. As for the management of Air Caraïbes, no flight has been canceled. The French airline specializing in the Caribbean confirms that its flight program will be maintained thanks to additional charters and non-striking employees. The strike movement was initiated by more than 500 employees with the support of the SNPNF-CO, strike during which the active staff and especially the passengers must compose as much as possible. _VX
