We expected suspense and we were served! The fourth and last day of the 10th edition of the St-Barth Cata-Cup which was to decide between the leaders and define the podium, indeed, offered an improbable scenario with, at the end, a host of twists and turns!
So, while the victory seemed to reach out to Franck Cammas and Matthieu Vandame (ODP 1) who occupied the lead in the standings at the dawn of the last two heats, it finally went to Iordanis Paschalidis and Konstantinos Trigonis (Relwen) , the first to have made a course error. The Greeks are however far from having stolen their victory. The two men have, in effect, constantly played at the forefront and demonstrated remarkable regularity despite the very changing conditions.
In the end, they won with a good lead and beat, in order, the Argentines Cruz Gonzales Smith - Mariano Heuser (Eden Rock Villa Rental) and the Belgians Patrick Demesmaeker - Olivier Gagliani (Les Perles de Saint-Barth).
