On Thursday April 27, Vincent Berton, Delegate Prefect of Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin responded with great pleasure to the invitation of volunteers from the Saint-Martin SNSM station.

Gilles Dubroca, the owner of the station, first showed him around the two nautical means of the station: The 129st category SNS 1 star, "Notre Dame de la Garoupe" and the semi-rigid 978-1, 12m long. , the “Rescue Star”.

The Prefect then took part in the weekly meeting in the presence of 24 volunteers. Himself Navy Commissioner until 2004, he told those present that he had always maintained friendly relations with the various stations and crews of the SNSM he had worked with.

Thanks to their know-how, their adaptability, their equipment, but also their deep commitment, the Sea Rescuers of the Saint-Martin station are able to respond effectively to any rescue situation, whether it is a breakdown, a leak on board, grounding, medical or medical evacuation, or even a fall overboard.

In short, a great respect to all these people who freely put their skills and their availability at the service of the world of the sea. Congratulations to them!

At the end of the meeting, the station's volunteers shared a little friendship drink with Vincent Berton. _AF
