LOCAL LIFE: The Christmas parade lit up Grand-Case

The Grand-Case Lighting Parade association delighted the public with the light parade that paraded through the streets of Grand-Case on Christmas Eve.

The event is awaited each year with impatience and wonder. In the pure tradition of Christmas, the magical parade organized by the association Grand-Case Lighting Parade met the expectations of the population who came in droves to attend the show. Thirteen floats marched on the Boulevard de Grand-Case, closed to traffic for the occasion. The parade started at the stadium to go up to the parking lot of the post office. Despite a slight delay which only increased the excitement in the streets of the district, the parade of lights was as beautiful as it was magical. For 25 years, the Grand-Case Lighting Parade association has been making young and old dream. Hit hard by the passage of Irma, the parade had not taken place since 2017. The floats of the parade have been reinvented, rebuilt, redecorated, to bring even more Christmas magic and illuminations to the inhabitants of Saint- Martin.

After a big comeback last year, the light parade confirms its reputation as an unmissable event during this holiday season. The thirteen flamboyant floats staged several essential themes such as the magnificent Christmas tree, the nativity scene, the little made-up angels who danced to the rhythm of the music and of course Santa Claus. Helped by two assistants, Santa Claus distributed many treats to the children without sulking the adults. Thanks to several downtimes during the parade, photography sessions obviously took place on Santa's float with happy and fulfilled children.

The float of gifts was sure to have everyone salivating this Christmas Eve, the timing couldn't be more perfect. The Snow Princess, the highlight of last year's show whose theme of the parade was the world of Disney, again managed to amaze the public, splendid. Just like the gingerbread house float, decorated with a thousand colors and garlands.

Some of the onlookers joined the little Christmas elves during the parade, bringing everyone together in a typical Saint-Martin Christmas spirit. _VX
