A minor earthquake (magnitude 3.7 on the Richter Scale) was recorded yesterday at 7 am and identified as Tectonic. Several inhabitants of the Northern Islands felt a slight shock.
The epicenter was located 45 km east-northeast of Saint − Barthélemy, 8 km deep (a hypocentral distance of about 46 km). This earthquake could generate, in the nearest affected areas, an average ground acceleration of 1.3 mg, corresponding to a macroseismic intensity I − II (not felt). _AF
