Carrying out a global reflection shared between the various actors, developing and planning a sports offer as complete as possible for the next ten years, these are the objectives of the territorial scheme for the development of sport in Saint-Martin.
"It will allow us to rethink and build the infrastructures, to provide an overall vision of the sports offer that adequately meets the expectations of the population, to apprehend future needs, to define priorities for the promotion sports, "says President Daniel Gibbs.
The elaboration of the document which started before Irma's passage, took place in consultation with the local associations which communicated the number of members, their profile (sex, age), their human and material resources, their losses after Irma and their needs. This information thus made it possible to carry out a diagnosis "as complete as possible of the sports landscape" in the French part, diagnosis which will serve as the basis for the definition of a strategy and actions. Adopted by the territorial council, this scheme will be implemented by a monitoring committee which will be made up of representatives from the COM, National Education, leagues, school sports, etc. it will meet six times a year.
