Sint Maarten police are investigating the circumstances of a shooting in which a man was shot in the hand Monday, February 5, early in the morning. The events occurred between Scotia Bank and the Yacht Club at Simpson Bay Marina.
The victim claims to have been hitchhiked out of a bar by two men driving a small car. When they drop her off at her destination, the two men ask her for money. She replies that she doesn't have one and one of the two men shoots her in the left hand. The victim then ran to the yacht club's security service, which called the police. The victim has since been taken to hospital. Forensic scientists were called to the scene of the shooting to collect evidence.(Source: www.soualigapost.com)
