The day before yesterday evening, shortly after midnight, several Dutch police patrols were called on the road to Nisbeth for a knife attack.
The incident first took place outside a casino where a man stole a client's cell phone. The latter ended up catching the perpetrator in an attempt to recover his property.
The situation then degenerated. The thief pulled out a knife and stabbed his victim in the hand.
Dispatched on the spot, the emergency services treated the woman's injuries before transporting her to the Sint Maarten Medical Center.

The alleged perpetrator was taken to the police station, where he is still being held for questioning.
